Novell, NetWare 6 CAN
Novell’s Certified Novell Administrator (CNA) 6 certification is meant for entry level IT professionals who have "a fundamental knowledge of networking" and want to "learn the specifics of Novell networking." The NetWare CNA 6 program was introduced in the summer of 2001. It is based on Novell’s NetWare networking product and, in order to round out a person’s networking knowledge, is worth adding to other certifications such as Microsoft’s MCSA, CompTIA’s Network+ and Cisco’s CCNA. The
CNA is a prerequisite for Novell’s mid-level certification, the Certfied Novell Engineer (CNE). There is no prerequisite to the CNA certification; however, Novell "strongly recommends individuals have a CompTIA Network+ certification before pursuing the Novell CNA." In essence, candidates should have "a good understanding of network implementation, support, media, topologies, protocols, and standards." In addition, a candidate must agree to the terms and conditions of the Novell Training Services Certification Agreement. The CNA certification is well suited to IT professionals who want to take on job titles such as junior network administrator, systems administrator, and help desk specialist. The CNA 6 designation is achieved by passing one core exam. |
